SubscriptionsWelcome to Melbourne 2010 Season![]() Artistic Director's MessageIt’s our first Melbourne Subscription Season!
In 2010, I invite music and arts lovers in Melbourne to discover the exciting sound of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. We will celebrate our very first Melbourne subscription season with four thrilling concert series in the new Melbourne Recital Centre. You can now experience the delicious sound of music on period instruments throughout the year. Since it was established in 1990, the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra has visited Melbourne on eleven occasions, including our two wonderful concert series in 2009, as well as the official opening of the MRC. We have also been presented twice by the Melbourne International Arts Festival. Our opening subscription season will feature the breathtaking French countertenor Philippe Jaroussky, groundbreaking Parisian band L’Arpeggiata, and the choirs of Trinity College and Melbourne Grammar School. This is the sound of the sixteenth and seventeenth century like never before. Imagine the Elisabeth Murdoch Hall filled with the rich warm timbres of baroque violins and cellos, wooden flutes and oboes, baroque trumpets, horns, harpsichord and glorious voices. What makes this first Brandenburg Melbourne season also special is that, as a subscriber, this is your chance to be among the first people to reserve your seat at the Brandenburg which I hope you will keep for many years. I hope you will join us for this irresistible Brandenburg offer. |
