/ Brandenburg Ensemble
The more the Orchestra and I explored and submerged ourselves in period music, the more we came to realise that there existed an opportunity to create a specialised group from within our ranks; a group that has the size, flexibility and experience to explore the more intimate and exotic aspects of period music.
The Brandenburg Ensemble is a way for us to stay on the cutting edge; to take more risks with improvisation; to investigate the mysterious, neglected and elusive side of 17th and 18th century music. With a passion for adventure and the experimental, I am thrilled that the Ensemble offers dynamic performances with a spontaneous edge, yet focussed precision.
The players, all soloists in their own right, are musicians who take great joy in playing together, which clearly comes through in the concerts.
