About Us   / Lucinda Moon - Concertmaster

Lucinda began her career as a modern violinist, performing with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Melbourne Chamber Orchestra in Australia, Europe and America.

In 1996 Lucinda was a prizewinner at the Bruges Early Music Competition with the Dutch-based ensemble Les Quatre. She also began her collaboration with graduate colleagues from the Netherlands in the Stockholm-based trio, The Musicke Roome. Together with The Musicke Roome Lucinda has toured Sweden, Germany, Mexico and Australia, including appearances in the Barossa Music Festival and the Festival Internacional Cervantino, and has recorded Jean-Philippe Rameau's Pieces de Claveçin and a live concert of eighteenth-century French music.

In Australia, Lucinda has performed and recorded with many leading baroque groups including the Elysium Ensemble (Melbourne), Chacona (Newcastle), Adelaide Baroque and Salut! Baroque. She has appeared regularly in the Melbourne Autumn Music and Barossa Music Festivals.

In 2004 she was guest concertmaster with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, Vancouver, and performed with The Orchestra of the 18th Century in the production of Jean-Philippe Rameau's opera Les Indes Galantes in Poland and the Netherlands. Lucinda also directed the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra Ensemble in its inaugural performance at the Bach Festival, Armidale, NSW.

In 2005, Lucinda was soloist in Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons' with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra on their national tour and more recently performed in Vancouver with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra and played viola d'amore in the Bach Cantata series presented by Early Music Vancouver,

Lucinda plays on an Italian violin, originally made circa 1700 by Giofredo Cappa of Saluzzo, Italy and restored to period specifications by Warren Nolan-Fordham, Australia. Her bows are by Michelle Speller, Vancouver, and Basil de Visser, Amsterdam.
