BRANDENBURG FRIENDS - SUPPORTING THE PASSION

In 1991, four young lawyers started a social group to support the then embryonic Australian Brandenburg Orchestra. Today, that group has developed into the Brandenburg Friends, which exists for people who share a passion for fine music and the work of the Orchestra, and who want to be more involved.

The Brandenburg Friends promotes and fosters the development, reach and work of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, early ensemble music and performance on period instruments.

The Brandenburg Friends, comprising people from all walks of life and from across the community, offers members a close connection to the Orchestra and its many talented musicians.

We also raise funds to help the Orchestra acquire period instruments, and we provide a way for our members to engage more closely with the Orchestra and its communities, creating opportunities for Australians who are seeking a keener appreciation of period music.

The Brandenburg Friends seeks to expand the Orchestra's audience and sponsorship base, works to bring new people into the orbit of the Orchestra, and provides opportunities for its members to meet and engage with Paul Dyer and his fine musicians.

BECOME A FRIEND
Being a Brandenburg Friend means that you are going that extra mile to ensure that a special Orchestra continues to thrive and succeed.

As well as knowing that the efforts of our members are building the Orchestra and cementing its position as one of the nation's great cultural assets, membership of the Brandenburg Friends is also a way to meet and connect with people who share your passion for fine, early ensemble music.

Benefits of being a Brandenburg Friend include:
  • Invitations to attend private Friends concerts and meet the musicians
  • Invitation to the Friends' Annual Dinner.
  • The opportunity to attend Orchestra rehearsals.
  • Discounts on "A Reserve" bookings (non-subscription tickets) at concerts at Angel Place, the primary performance venue for the Orchestra.
  • Special offers on Brandenburg Orchestra CDs.
  • Subscription to Articulations, the Friends' quarterly information and events newsletter.
  • Being part of the extended family of the Orchestra.
  • Acknowledgment in the Orchestra's concert series programs.
  • The knowledge that you are making a difference and supporting one of the world's premier chamber orchestras.
IT'S EASY TO JOIN
