In his Australian debut, this brilliant and colourful violinist will perform three of the most stunning romantic pieces – played on gut strings for the first time in Australia.
Paul Dyer says: “Shunske is a brilliant international talent, one of the most dynamic and exciting violinists of his generation. He's performing the Paganini Violin Concerto No. 4 ON GUT STRINGS. Who does that? It is something only the bravest of the brave would dare to tackle!”
Shunske is one of the most acclaimed and versatile musicians of his generation. Debuting as a soloist at the age of 12, Shunske studied at the Julliard School, New York and the Curtis Institute, Philadelphia.
When Mendelssohn was 12, he composed his second string symphony, but already his work was bold, bright and full of eloquence. The Brandenburg performs Grieg’s Holberg Suite – written in tribute to the baroque poet Holberg – with a reverence and strong period mindfulness. You will love the warm and rich tones of the Brandenburg strings played on their period instruments.
And then Paganini’s dangerously virtuosic Concerto for Violin No. 4 – what a finale!
