Marketing Executive

Help build our brand

The busy Brandenburg marketing team is growing, and a new role has been created for an imaginative, resourceful and diligent Marketing Executive to support, coordinate and manage marketing campaigns and programs.

The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra is seeking a talented marketer who is passionate about the future of baroque and classical music - and of all things marketing. You will have 1-2 years of experience in marketing, advertising and possibly content creation and production.

This important role performs a hands-on function in a small marketing & publicity team. You will be comfortable managing a busy and complex marketing schedule and will thrive in a close-knit and high-performing team. You will bring a strong work ethic and established marketing skills along with your own creative flair to our marketing programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Marketing and Customer Relations to deliver the annual marketing and communications strategy.
  • Support the broader marketing team to execute marketing campaigns and programs.
  • Coordinate and execute a broad range of marketing tasks and duties supporting single ticket sales, subscription sales, corporate and philanthropic development campaigns, and general marketing administration.
  • Develop and produce email marketing campaigns in Wordfly.
  • Liaise with key partners such as concert venues, media and publishers and aligned arts companies.
  • Create and update content for website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and other channels as required.
  • Coordinate the production of concert program booklets.
  • Work collaboratively with media and design agencies to develop and implement the company’s marketing campaigns.

What we are looking for from you:

  • At least 1-2 years of work experience in a marketing role or a marketing environment.
  • Experience in email marketing.
  • A proactive attitude and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Eager to learn and take ownership of projects.
  • Highly organised and able to coordinate and manage a busy schedule.
  • Familiarity with Photoshop and other Adobe products is desirable.
  • Bachelor degree qualified in marketing, advertising or multimedia related field is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura is desirable but not mandatory.

Salary commensurate with experience

Communications Manager

We are looking for a creative and well-connected Communications Manager to help tell our story and build our brand.

We are seeking a commercially minded Communications Manager who has experience in crafting and executing highly impactful content and communications plans in  complex multi-channel environments. The successful applicant will enjoy working as part of a collaborative team and will possess exceptional publicity, communications and copywriting skills honed through five or more years’ experience in journalism, communications or publicity. The successful candidate’s nuanced understanding of the media landscape will include niche and mass market online and print publications, radio, free-to-air and view-on-demand television, and social media.

The Role
The Communications Manager will be required to design and execute engaging publicity, content and communications strategies that have demonstrable commercial impact. Reporting into the Head of Marketing and Customer Relations you will:

  • Design and implement communications, content and publicity strategies that drive increased brand engagement with new and existing audiences and customer groups.
  • Effectively pitch, promote and publicise Australian Brandenburg Orchestra’s performances and secure impactful media coverage.
  • Guide and guard our brand to ensure that Australian Brandenburg Orchestra is positioned as a unique and leading cultural voice.
  • Develop a distinct personality for verbal communications.
  • Write media releases, company news and editorial, and customer e-newsletters.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive a communications and content calendar.
  • Create compelling and informative stories with a tailored approach for ticketing, philanthropic and corporate audiences across owned, earned and paid channels.
  • Build loyal and engaged communities on social media.
  • Be confident working with marketing tools and technologies such as Tessitura, WordFly and Umbraco.
  • Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders including Artistic Director, musicians, administration staff and the media.

About You

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Media or another relevant field.
  • Excellent network of influential media contacts at local and national level.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills and demonstrated experience in implementing effective communications and content plans.
  • Experience developing style guides.
  • Demonstrated skills in crafting persuasive and engaging content for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Intuitive understanding of and experience in managing social media.
  • Sound knowledge of media and materials production, and communication and amplification techniques.
  • Deep interest in the arts, especially baroque and classical music.
  • Experience in producing email marketing campaigns.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel.
  • Knowledge of Tessitura is desirable but not mandatory.

Salary commensurate with experience
