AUSTRALIAN BRANDENBURG ORCHESTRA
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Based in Sydney
Competitive salary
The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra is one of the country’s leading major performing arts organisations. Led by Artistic Director Paul Dyer, the Orchestra has provided joy to audiences, Australia-wide, for almost three decades through its presentation of baroque and early classical music. The Orchestra collaborates with the world’s leading early music specialists and has won numerous awards, including five ARIA awards for Best Classical Album, and a Helpmann Award.
The Brandenburg relies on financial support from its philanthropic donors and corporate partners for a number of key programmatic and artistic areas to ensure its continued success. The company seeks a new Senior Development Manager who will strategically lead and manage the Brandenburg’s Development department, across three key areas, Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships, and Fundraising (bequests and fundraising events). Particular priority will be given to identifying and attracting significant corporate partnership and sponsorship opportunities. It is an exciting time to join the team with huge opportunity for further growth, particularly as the Brandenburg prepares to celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2019 - a significant moment in the Orchestra’s history.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate a track record in the cultivation and solicitation of gifts, including major gifts, from both individual donors and/or partnerships with corporate sponsors. The Brandenburg will also consider candidates with applicable skills in business development, sales or marketing, which may have been gained in the corporate sector. Superior communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to negotiate and persuade a variety of stakeholders internally and externally, will be fundamental.
