Leave a lasting legacy

The Brandenburg Bequest Program

Leave a lasting legacy

Since its founding in 1990, the Brandenburg has transformed the way audiences experience Baroque and early music in this country.

Over the years, the Brandenburg has achieved extraordinary milestones. It has performed to hundreds of thousands of audience members across Australia and internationally, recorded acclaimed albums, and built a reputation for artistic excellence that reaches far beyond our shores. Collaborations with outstanding singers, instrumentalists, dancers, and creative artists have expanded the boundaries of Baroque performance, showing that music from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries can still feel fresh, relevant, and deeply moving today.

Equally important has been the Brandenburg’s commitment to education and the development of future musicians. Through outreach programs, workshops, and its mentoring initiatives, the Brandenburg has inspired young artists and introduced countless students to the beauty and craftsmanship of early music. In doing so, it has helped ensure that this rich musical tradition continues to flourish for generations to come.

But achievements like these do not happen by accident. They are the result of vision, dedication, and the support of a community that believes in the importance of the arts.

This is why bequests and legacy gifts are so important. When someone chooses to remember the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra in their will, they are doing something extraordinary. They are not simply supporting a concert season or a single project—they are investing in the long-term vitality of the orchestra itself.

Therefore, your support ensures that the artistry, scholarship, and spirit that define the Brandenburg will endure. It means that decades from now, new audiences will still have the opportunity to hear the vibrant sound of period instruments, to discover the emotional power of Baroque music, and to experience the joy that live performance can bring.

Thanks to Chairman’s 11 members Michael and Caroline Williams’ generous support as hosts for opening their home to us in March 2026 as we celebrated the vision of our bequestors. These loyal supporters are helping us to preserve music from the past but also to ensure that it continues to live, breathe, and inspire for generations to come.
