Development Executive
The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra celebrates music of the baroque period (16th, 17th and 18th centuries) and showcases Australia’s finest baroque musicians performing on period instruments. With a program that presents world-renowned guest artists from Australia and abroad, led by charismatic Artistic Director Paul Dyer, the Brandenburg are known for their expressive, joyful performance style. The Brandenburg presents six concert series a year across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane along with regional and national tours.
About the role:
The Brandenburg is looking to appoint a Development Executive to join its Development department. This position works closely with the Head of Development and Philanthropy Manager in supporting the day-to-day administration and operations for the Development area. This role also works closely with the head of department and team on delivery of all aspects of the Company’s development (Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships, Trusts and Foundations, Private Ancillary Funds) projects and in supporting marketing deliverables for Development
The successful candidate will have strong administration experience with exceptional attention-to-detail along with great organisational and relationship management skills. They will have a pro-active approach and work with efficiency in what is a busy role supporting the department. They will be a collaborator, working effectively across different functions within the company to deliver on development strategy and priorities. They will be an ambassador for the brand and be an exceptional ‘host’, whether at major events, concerts, smaller scale events and in their day-to-day role, ensuring our supporters, patrons and partners are offered a world-class Brandenburg experience.

The Development Executive is a full-time role which reports to the Head of Development on a day- to-day basis and to the Managing Director as required.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
ADMINISTRATION - PHILANTHROPY DEPARTMENT
- Processing and receipting of donations and acknowledgements in a timely, accurate and efficient manner;
- Maintaining up-to-date records in the CRM (Tessitura);
- Drafting letters to patrons or major supporters and overseeing send out, including mass mailouts;
- Managing and pulling database lists and checking for accuracy for major donation campaign mailouts or other external communications;
- Managing donor listings for website and concert programs;
- Reporting for philanthropy as required.
EVENT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT
- Operational planning of all development events, under the direction of the Head of Development, including but not limited to fundraising events, cultivation events, corporate partner events, concert hospitality and entertaining;
- Management of procurement process for events including working with various suppliers and venues and ensuring procurement processes are followed and budgeted expenditure appropriately managed;
- Creative oversight of events to ensure events meet the Brandenburg standards and are delivered to brief;
- Overall administration of the event including co-ordination of invitations, ticketing, marketing of the event and ensuring all CRM systems and databases (Tessitura) have accurate and up-to-date information and any other administration is managed;
- Working with the Artistic team to make arrangements for performances and to receive important artistic input for the events;
- Prepare and distribute relevant documentation for events including run sheets, event debriefs, documentation and any other reports as required;
- On the day, event management of the event- key point of contact for all venues/suppliers, managing all timings and delivery of the event.
SUPPORTING BROADER DEVELOPMENT OBJECTIVES
- Conduct research into prospective corporate partnerships, individual giving, private ancillary funds, trusts and foundations – maintaining detailed database of collected data while providing qualified information to relevant development team members
- Patron engagement – maintaining strong engagement with a portfolio of patrons as requested and designated by the Head of Development;
- Managing key marketing deliverables for the development department in collaboration with the marketing team including collating and reviewing key outputs, sourcing content and drafting copy as required;
- Supporting day-to-day management of sponsorship deliverables including ticketing and marketing;
- Supporting day-to-day management of sponsors as directed by the Head of Development;
- Drafting of grant applications and acquittals, under direction of Head of Development or senior members of the development team;
- Research on the philanthropic landscape and/or specific research projects as required;
- Support department on key projects as required;
- Attend concerts and events to ensure hospitality needs are met and all associated event requirements are in place;
- Ensure consistent, professional and courteous servicing of external suppliers and clients;
- Any other administration duties that arise from time to time.
GENERAL
- Provide support to the Head of Development as required;
- Provide support to the broader Development team as required, including philanthropy, fundraising, fundraising events, grant funding, trusts and foundation, partnerships, private ancillary funds or other activity;
- Work across both Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy as and when required by the Head of Development and/or the Managing Director;
- As needed, you will be required to attend concerts and events outside of office hours (including on weekends). Domestic travel is also required;
